The Ouzinkie Oral History project has received a boost in the form of a grant from the Alaska Humanities Forum. Sharon Anderson is the project coordinator for the Spruce Island Development Corporation, which is overseeing the effort. In an interview with KMXT she explains how the project came together and why right now is a very important time for them to be documenting their history.

Anderson says that the recordings, photos and video collected will be housed at the Spruce Island Development Corporation, although she is open to other organizations such as the State Archives or the Alutiiq Museum making use of the materials.
