The Alutiiq Museum is getting ready for the return of another of Kodiak’s most treasured historical objects. Executive Director Sven Haakanson says the discovery of the only known existing Alutiiq warrior kayak about a decade ago is as significant as the Alutiiq masks that debuted in 2008. KMXT’s Jennifer Canfield spoke with Haakanson about the kayak which is currently housed at the Peabody Museum in Massachusetts.
