The deadline for making your nominations for the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards is at the close of business Friday. Each year at the chamber’s annual dinner, local businesses and individuals are recognized for their support for the Chamber and the Kodiak community.
The public can nominate and vote for three of the four awards given out annually; they are Business of the Year, Member of the Year and the Cornerstone award, which goes to an individual or business that works for the betterment of the town and its people. The fourth award is Volunteer of the Year, and that is selected by the chamber board.
You can get a nomination form from the chamber, but it has to be returned right away.
Meanwhile, you’ve got a little more than a week to nominate someone for one of the three seats coming open on the chamber board of directors. That deadline is January 23rd. The winners of the board seats and the community awards will be announced at the annual meeting dinner February 25th.
