KMXT 100.1 FM Public Radio in Kodiak, Alaska
About 160 residences have lost power in the Chiniak, Pasagshak and Middle Bay areas. Nancy Sweeney, communication specialist for Kodiak Electric Association, says crews have been dispatched to a utility pole located on the town side of Middle Bay. Heavy snow, wind and rain caused the top of the pole to snap around 11:30 this morning. Power is expected to be restored by early tomorrow morning.
