Era Offers Free Beer on ANC-ADQ Flights

While there still is no free lunch aboard airliners, you can get free beer on Era Alaska flights in and out of Kodiak. At least through the end of the month. The company announced Friday that Kodiak has been added to the small list of routes where a beer will be complimentary for those 21 and older.

Era made a deal with Denali Brewing of Talkeetna to promote the company’s beer and celebrate summer returning to Alaska. The sample will be limited to Denali’s "Single Engine Red" as a salute, Era says, to Alaska’s rich aviation history. Single Engine Red is an Irish-style amber ale, and will only be available on Era’s Dash 8 flights, not the smaller Beechcraft 1900s it sometimes flies here. Refills are $3 each.

In other news about Era, the company will host a Kodiak Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours mixer from 6- to 8-p.m. on Thursday at the Harbor Convention Center. No word if Single Engine Red will be served.
