A 33-year-old Kodiak man was arrested early yesterday (Monday) morning after a short stand-off with Kodiak police. The man had barricaded himself inside a vehicle in the 1200 block of Mission Road after a domestic disturbance reported at about 3 a.m.

The intoxicated man initially refused orders from the police to throw out his semi-automatic rifle and demanded the police kill him. Officers approached the car with weapons drawn and the man surrendered without further incident.

He is accused of firing up to six rounds from the rifle inside a nearby home, though there were no injuries. He was charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors, including misconduct involving a weapon and third-degree assault.
