Even on the dampest of Saturdays, a collection of faithful gardeners, craftsmen and bakers gather at the Kodiak Island Fairgrounds to sell their goods during the weekly Farmer’s Market. Eager buyers flock to the market to support the local entrepreneurs and stock their kitchens with locally grown and handmade treats.
KMXT’s Brianna Gibbs ventured to the market on a particularly wet Saturday this weekend and spoke with those in attendance.
The Farmer’s Market takes place weekly, opening at 11 a.m. It’s recommended that buyers arrive early, as produce can sell out quickly. The market will run through the second weekend in September.
