On Thursday evening, retiring Kodiak Parks and Recreation Director Ian Fulp attended his last city council meeting. After nearly 40-years, Fulp is retiring and will be moving with his wife Judy to the mainland to be closer to their kids and grandkids.

Fulp addressed the council at the beginning of the meeting:

— (Fulp 1 1:01 “I want to thank you for such … Kodiak, Alaska. So, thank you.”)

The city councilmen, John Whiddon, Randy Bishop, Gabriel Saravia, Charlie Davidson, Terry Haines and Mark Vizcocho, each praised Fulp, the only Parks and Rec director the city has ever known:

— (Fulp 2 1:36 “Well thank you, Ian. There’s so … and activities you had for us.”)

The reception for Fulp will be tomorrow evening at Henry’s restaurant starting at 5:30.
