The Kodiak High School Bears football team has completed its season with an early exit from the medium-size school playoffs on Saturday. Soldotna continued their unbeaten streak against the Bears with a 62-to-7 romp up on the Stars’ home field.
Soldotna pressured Kodiak from the beginning, putting up 53 points in the first half. At one point, the Stars had three touchdowns in less than a minute-and-a-half. The third touchdown came after Soldotna pulled an on-side kick against the Bears.
SoHi will now face the Homer Mariners on Saturday for the medium-school state championship. The Mariners beat the Thunder Mountain Falcons 44-26 Friday night in Juneau.
