(KPLA Update 1 :44 “What we have in front of you…any property acquisition cost.”)

Sturgulewksi said the project is moving along very well with regards to design, building and funding.

(KPLA Update 2 :33 “After approval, assuming approval…so the project is coming along well.”)

Leslie Fields is part of the capitol campaign for the project and has spent the last year helping acquire funds for the library.

(KPLA Update 3 :22 “Our goal was to raise…every week. Right now we’re at $586,763.”)

Fields said she expects that amount to increase in the coming weeks. She said the next phase of fundraising will get the whole community involved. Fields said they have some events and fundraisers in the works that will allow community members to contribute whatever they can to the library. City Manager Aimée Kniaziowski said the library has a better substantial completion date for the library, that date is September 6. The city will vote on whether or not to approve the next phase during its regular meeting on tonight. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place in the borough assembly chambers.
