No Miracle that Popular Play Held Over

Last weekend “The Miracle Worker” wowed audiences in Kodiak. Lissa Woodbury Jensen directed the play, which depicts a young Helen Keller’s journey to learn how to communicate, despite being blind and deaf. Jensen said the play was so successful it will return this upcoming weekend for two more showings.
The show will remain on in the drama pod of the Gerald C. Wilson Auditorium. Jensen said she wanted to keep the show on the smaller, intimate stage so the emotions of the play could be more accessible by audience members.
Jensen attributes the success of the play to the talent of the entire cast, but highlighted one particular performance, that of 11-year-old Wetherleigh Griffin, who played the young Helen Keller. The play will show two more times this weekend – Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.
