The main hall of the new library will feature private study rooms, multiple lounge areas and a gas fireplace, as well as the main book collection. The wooden pillars are trees that were harvested from the new site. Construction on the library is set to wrap up October 15, and the facility should open its doors in early November. This fall the Kodiak Public Library will open its doors at a new location, right next to KMXT on borough hill. Construction on the new facility has been going on for about a year, and yesterday KMXT’s Brianna Gibbs caught up with Project Superintendent Carl Brinkerhoff and Kodiak Public Library Association Treasurer Erin Harrington to tour the new facility.
