ASMI Cancels Board Meeting, Reception in Kodiak

Jay Barrett/KMXT
What probably seemed like a great idea when the sun was shining in Kodiak for weeks on end, all of a sudden became a logistical nightmare when the rain returned and visibility at the airport became hit-and-miss. As a result of the inclement weather, the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute announced this morning that it will NOT be holding its board of directors meeting here this week. The ASMI Customer Advisory Panel was also scheduled to be in attendance.
As a result, the seafood reception scheduled for tonight at the K.I. has been cancelled as well. The reception was to have been an opportunity for the Kodiak public to mingle with some of the state’s largest seafood customers from around the globe.

Instead, the meeting has been relocated to the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood.
