Bears’ Offense Clicks Against Falcons

The Kodiak High School Bears had a light sports schedule over the weekend, with just two sports competing.
On the gridiron here at home, the Bears offense came alive against the Thunder Mountain Falcons, racking up 60 points. The smaller of Juneau’s two high schools managed 15 points. The Bears rushed for over 500 yards and scored nine touchdowns. Kodiak improves to 3-2 overall with the non-conference win.
The Bears continue their season-ending homestand by hosting Northern Lights Conference foes Houston next, followed by Skyview.
In a dual meet Friday evening on the Fort Abercrombie trail, Kodiak fell to the Colony Knights. The Kodiak boys were led by Levi Thomet, who finished the course in 16-minutes 50-seconds, but it wasn’t enough to take the team win, with Colony scoring 27 to Kodiak’s 28.
Zoe Bigley was Kodiak’s top girl in third place, with a time of 21-minutes 14-seconds. Colony won the team competition 18-to42.
