Even though it’s a festive time of year, Alaska State Troopers are reminding folks to not let holiday festivities impair their judgment on the road. A press release from the State Troopers office said officers will be ramping up their efforts in the next two weeks as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” national driving under the influence enforcement campaign.
The release said troopers will be looking for impaired drivers, speeding and reckless driving over the holidays. Folks can help keep themselves and others safe by reporting dangerous driving to 9-1-1 and choosing not to drive if they have been drinking. Funding for increased enforcement efforts is through various grants from the Alaska Highway Safety Office.
