When residents at the Care Center relocate to the new long term care facility later this month, they won’t be moving very far. The new Providence Chiniak Bay Elder House is less than 400 yards uphill from the old facility, but the difference in living conditions will be dramatic. KMXT’s Brianna Gibbs was able to tour the new building this week and found out just what Kodiak’s elder’s have to look forward to.
There will be a community open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for the Chiniak Bay Elder House on Saturday from 11 a.m. and tours of the building will be given until 2 p.m.
