The Kodiak High School Bears girls basketball team wrapped up a perfect regular season over the weekend by sweeping the Wasilla Warriors here in Kodiak.
On Friday, the Bears trounced the Warriors 50-to-29 before a raucous hometown crowd. Hannah Wandersee scored 19 and Carissa Cannon dropped in 14 in the win, including both Kodiak three-pointers.
The final home game on Saturday was a bit closer, for a time. The Warriors were within four at one point, but could not maintain their momentum and the Lady Bears ran away with the win, 62-46.
Kodiak is a perfect 22-and- over all, and 10-0 in the Northern Lights Conference. They are ranked number 1 in the state and in the NLC, where they will get a first round bye in the upcoming regional tournament.

The Kodiak boys will also get a first round bye in the boys NLC tournament after finishing second in the region. They split with the Warriors over the weekend up in Wasilla. The Bears rolled to a 21-point win Friday, 70-to-49. On Saturday, foul trouble in the paint allowed the Warriors to work the ball inside and steal the win 65-60.

The Northern Lights Conference tournament will begin Thursday at Colony High up in the Valley. The complete brackets for both the girls and the boys game times will be released today. The state tournament at the Sullivan Sports Arena in Anchorage will be two weeks later, starting March 20th.
