The Kodiak High School basketball teams had mixed results over the weekend at the T-Bird Classic at East Anchorage High School. The girls won two of three games in the round-robin tournament, losing only to eventual champion East, while the boys went winless.

In Saturday’s action, the Juneau Crimson Bears downed the Kodiak boys 52-38. Kodiak led by two at the half, but Juneau responded with some sharpshooting from three-point range to pull away in the second half. Jemuel Mangalus and Max Mutch were named All-Tournament.

The Barrow Whalers, a 3-A school, led by a 6-7 freshman, went undefeated and won the tournament.

The Kodiak girls fell to the host team 54-45 in a turn-over-ridden game. Ila Hughes, Kristhel Fangonilo and Stephanie Price were named to the All-Tournament Team.
