The Kodiak Police Department has a lead on the vehicle involved in a hit and run outside the high school Wednesday night. Police Chief Rhonda Wallace said the suspect vehicle has been narrowed down to a Ford F-150 pick up, made between 1997 and 2003, and according to eyewitness reports, is white.

The accident injured Brent Watkins, who had to be medevac’d to Anchorage with injuries to his pelvis, ribs and head. A family friend says he is alert and resting at an Anchorage hospital.

KPD officers closed off Rezanof Thursday morning to search for more evidence in the light of day and found enough pieces of the vehicle to identify it as an F150 of that vintage. Wallace says the passenger side headlight is broken and there could be other damage to the front end. If anyone has seen the vehicle in question, they are urged to call the KPD at 486-8000 or crime stoppers at 486- 3113.
