Kodiak Area Still Shy of 1-Million Salmon Harvest

Kodiak commercial fishermen have yet to crack the 1-million mark through Monday’s catch. According to Fish and Game figures the total all-species harvest is 837,856 salmon, with 81,918 being harvested Monday.

Most of that – over 53,000 – were pinks, bringing their season total to 186,000.

Fishermen brought in 15,620 reds, bringing the season harvest up to 468,688. Just under 10,000 chum were caught Monday, boosting the season total up above 131,000. Fishermen delivered 3,123 silvers and 183 kings, taking their season catches to 48,688 and 3,169, respectively.
