Only Incumbents Seeking KEA Board Seats

The Kodiak Electric Cooperative candidate forum has been canceled again this year. That’s because, according to KEA spokesperson Nancy B. Sweeney, only incumbents are seeking terms on the board of directors this year, just like last year.

There are a trio of three-year terms available on the KEA board. Running for them are the current seat-owners, Gordon Gould, who has served for 15 years, Jay Johnston, a nine-year veteran, and Linda Freed, who is seeking to extend her six years of service.

In light of the cancellation of the candidate forum, Sweeney urges cooperative members to contact the candidates directly with any questions or concerns about Kodiak Electric and their vision for its direction over the next three years. Their contact information is available on the KEA website, Kodiak Electric dot com.

Ballots will be sent by mail at the end of next week, and must be returned by mail by noon on April 22 to be counted. Results will be announced at KEA’s 74th annual membership meeting on April 25th.
