New Crab Fest Logo Features Iconic Fishing Staple

ComFish Alaska begins next week and it is a harbinger of another classic Kodiak event—the Kodiak Crab Festival.

What do the two have in common besides fish?

Well, ComFish presents the first opportunity to purchase new Crab Festival clothing and other merchandise.

Stephanie DeLaGarza is Community Relations Director for the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce. She says a previous logo showing a crab holding a pair of Xtratuf boots went over so well, the Chamber thought it would try another iconic fishing staple…

The logo is the work of local artist Mary Ruskovich, who specializes in ink and watercolor.

If you want to be the first of your friends to get the new Crab Festival t-shirts and other gear, be sure to mark Thursday, March 30th on your calendar. That’s the first day of ComFish.

ComFish runs the 30th thru April1 at the convention center and at the Kodiak Inn Harbor Room.
