The U.S. Coast Guard medevac’d a man in waters off Afognak Island today.

According to a Coast Guard press release, the fishing vessel Nordic Cross had alerted Anchorage watchstanders that a 47-year-old crewmember had sustained a leg injury.

At the time, the fishing vessel was in Duck Bay, off the southeast coast of Afognak Island. A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew flew to the man’s aid and transported him to emergency services.
