Alaska Governor Bill Walker will be in Kodiak Friday, August 31.
While in the city, he’ll sign off on House Bill 56.
The bill will raise the amount of a commercial fishing loans from $300,000 to $400,000, to adjust for inflation.
The bill would also change the loan for buying an entry permit from $100,000 to $200,000.
The signing will be at 1:15 p.m. Friday afternoon at Fisherman’s Hall and continue to 1:45 p.m.
Walker is running for his second term during the 2018 gubernatorial election in November.
