Happy Birthday, US Coast Guard — 229 years of service

On Aug. 4, 1790 Congress authorized Secretary Alexander Hamilton’s proposal to build new revenue cutters.
Those 10 original vessels were the beginning of the Revenue Cutter Service, which is now the U.S Coast Guard. Congratulations on 229 years!
