On the agenda: tonight’s City Council meeting

There is a city council meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Borough Assembly Chambers.

At tonight’s meeting, the city council will vote to certify the results of the October municipal election. Incumbents, Mayor Pat Branson and Councilmembers John Whiddon and Charlie Davidson, will also be sworn into office for another term.

Also on the agenda, the council will be addressing a number of new resolutions. One is to upgrade emergency technology equipment like radios and tsunami sirens. Another would authorize borrowing up to $5.4 million from the Alaska Clean Water Fund to upgrade the city’s wastewater treatment plant.

The council will also vote on a authorization to continue working with state legislative lobbyist Dianne Blumer of Blumer & Associates.
