Beware of traffic light malfunction at Marine Way and Rezanof

Drivers downtown should be aware that part of the traffic light at the corner of Rezanof Drive and Marine Way is not working.

The Kodiak Police Department says the light is broken on the side facing traffic coming in from Bells Flats and the airport.

Drivers coming from the Y, Marine Way or Alder won’t see the dead green light. But they may want to use caution as the outage may prompt unusual behaviors from drivers coming into town on that one side.

If you are coming in from the Bells Flats side, you will see that the red-green-yellow light hanging overhead is out. But, if you look to the right near the corner of the old AC Building, you will see a red-green-yellow light on the pole beside the sidewalk. That’s how you will know it’s time to go or to stop.

The police say DOT has been notified of the outage.
