School Board to consider teacher contracts tonight, meeting begins at 6:30 on KMXT

The Kodiak Island Borough Board of Education meets tonight to consider approval of the school’s 2020-2021 certificated tenured teacher contracts.

The board reviewed the long list of tenured teachers at a recent work session and it is expected that they will approve all at one time during tonight’s meeting.

The total cost for all the contracts is $8.1 million.

Also on tonight’s agenda is a bid award for new fencing for several of the grade schools and additional security gates and fencing. Included are the Chiniak playground, Pre-K Playground area, and Peterson security fencing.

Also on tonight’s agenda are discussions on several grants, as well as the December report of revenues and expenses.

The School Board meeting begins at 6:30 tonight in the School District Services Conference room.

KMXT will broadcast the meeting live, which means a slight change to our evening schedule.
