  • The City of Dillingham and the Curyung Tribal Council  have sent a joint letter to the governor urging him to close the Bristol Bay commercial fishery because of fears that the influx of people will jeopardize the community’s health.
  • Kodiak fisherman Mike Friccero who has fished Bristol Bay 40 years, urges everyone to “take it a day at a time.” He also says he understands the concern for the community caused by fishermen who may bring the coronavirus with them to Bristol Bay.
  • Local processors are gearing up for fishing–and that includes setting up and enforcing protocols designed to keep the coronavirus out of the processing plants, away from the workers and the product.
