Two more COVID-19 cases in past 24 hours

The COVID-19 count for Kodiak Island has grown by two over the past 24 hours.

Late Thursday evening, the Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization was notified by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services about one more positive test result. And Friday morning, Alaska public health officials notified Kodiak officials of an another positive case, the twelfth known case in our area.

Both cases are residents who have travel recently.

Kodiak public health officials have made contact with both individuals and will continue to monitor their condition to ensure self-isolation and care. Contact investigations are underway for both cases.
