Cruise ships to return to Kodiak in May of 2021

Kodiak can look forward to the return of cruise ships in 2021.

While the recently published schedule is still extremely tentative in the context of the global pandemic, cruise ships may reach the dock of Kodiak as early as May 1^st this upcoming year.

Many small businesses downtown and around the island benefit from the tourism that the ships provide. For them, it would be their first time seeing business from cruise ship visitors since 2019.

Only 15 cruise ship visits are presently scheduled in Kodiak, which is low compared to previous years. That number could change drastically, as the outlook for the COVID-19 pandemic and present economic downturn either worsens or improves.
