Weather cancels Monday’s Tustumena sailing from Homer to Kodiak

Stormy weather in the Gulf of Alaska cancelled the Tustumena’s departure from Homer on Sunday night. In an online notice, the Alaska Marine Highway System said all ports of call scheduled for Monday, Sept. 7 are cancelled due to weather.

Had the Tustumena departed Homer as scheduled at 8:45 Sunday night, it would have arrived in Port Lions and Ouzinkie on early Monday morning, with a 10:45 a.m. stop in Kodiak.

AMHS says the Tustumena’s schedule will resume on Tuesday, departing Homer at 11:45 a.m.

On Tuesday, the ferry will make its normal run to Seldovia and depart for Kodiak at 10:45 p.m. arriving on Wednesday  in Kodiak on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m.

On Wednesday afternoon at 4:45 p.m., the Tustumena will leave Kodiak for the Aleutian chain for the last time this year. The ferry’s last stop in Kodiak will be Friday, September 30th at 8:15 a.m. It will be out of service until next April for repairs.
