Coast guard rescues two men from capsizing skiff in Sitkinak Lagoon

The Coast Guard rescued two men Sunday afternoon, after their skiff capsized in Sitkinak lagoon, approximately 85 nautical miles Southwest of Kodiak.

Both men were rescued from the water by a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk from their craft, and airlifted to the ranch where they were staying. Both men were reported at the time to be in stable condition.

Coast Guard Sector Anchorage watchstanders were alerted to their predicament by a witness on a nearby ranch, telling them that the two men were stranded in waist-deep water on a sandbar after their skiff capsized.
