COVID Update: Kodiak Coast Guard virtual town hall meeting tonight

The Coast Guard is holding a virtual town hall meeting for its Kodiak service members and families at five o’clock tonight.

The Thursday meeting will give them an opportunity to ask questions about the COVID-19 outbreak, which so far involves at least 13 service members and dependents.

The town hall will be streamed live on Facebook.

The commander of the Kodiak base, Capt. Edward Hernaez  and the commander of the Kodiak Air Station, Bryan Dailey, will lead the discussion.

The Coast Guard Public Affairs office says they will begin with questions that have been submitted first, then answer questions posed in the comment section of Facebook if time permits.

The meeting is only for service members and their families, who have been provided with a link to the town hall gathering.

KMXT has been invited to listen in and will provide coverage later.
