Kodiak COVID Count: Total cases continue to rise, as active cases decrease sharply

As cases rise across the country, Kodiak has experienced a reduction in active COVID-19 cases over the weekend as several residents completed their isolation period according to the Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization.

Three new cases were reported for the Kodiak Island Borough. One is a Kodiak resident and close contact of a previous case, and two are close contacts of this new case. Contact tracing is underway.

These three new cases raise the total case count to 144 cases in the Kodiak Island Borough since the beginning of the pandemic. Active cases dropped to 22, as 15 individuals completed their isolation period. Last Friday, there were 34 active cases, according to the Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization.
