Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases, hospitalizations steady entering Christmas weekend

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has reported six new cases for the Kodiak Island Borough, including five close contact cases and one community transmission case.

This brings the current case count in the Kodiak Island Borough to 857 cases, with 139 cases currently classified as active.

To date there have been 35 hospitalizations on Kodiak, with two patients currently hospitalized. There have been five deaths locally due to COVID-19 to date.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
