Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases steady at lower level than previous weeks

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has reported 24 new cases of COVID-19 for the Kodiak Island Borough.

These cases included 1 travel related case, 11 are considered community transmission and 12 are close contact cases.

This brings the total case count to 851 total cases in Kodiak since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, with 133 cases being classified as active.

There have been 35 local hospitalizations to date in Kodiak, with two patients currently hospitalized. There have been five deaths to date due to COVID-19 in Kodiak.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
