Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases back on the rise, after a weeklong fall

According to the Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization, 16 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough, including 12 close contact cases and four community transmission cases.

This brings the current case count in the Kodiak Island Borough to 937 cases since the start of the pandemic, with 54 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 38 local hospitalizations to date in Kodiak, with two patients currently hospitalized. There have been five deaths to date due to COVID-19 locally.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
