Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases edge up marginally, as community spread cases decline

According to the Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization, seven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported for the Kodiak Island Borough. Among those cases were six close contact cases and one travel related case.

This brings the total case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough to 1020 cases, with 42 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 40 hospitalizations and five deaths to date associated with COVID-19 on Kodiak. There are currently no active local COVID-19 hospitalizations.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
