Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases fall below 50

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has announced nine new COVID-19 cases for the Kodiak Island Borough. Among these were six close contact cases, two community transmission cases, and one travel related case.

This brings the total case count to 921 cases in the Kodiak Island Borough since the start of the pandemic, with 41 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 37 hospitalizations to date, with one patient currently hospitalized. There have been five deaths due to COVID-19 locally since the start of the pandemic.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
