Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases fall to just 40

In light of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center will not provide an update on new COVID cases for Monday.

The COVID-19 case count update from Saturday reported four new cases of COVID-19, including one community transmission case and three close contact cases.

This brings the current case count associated with the Kodiak Island Borough to 997 cases since the start of the pandemic, with 40 cases being classified as active today.

To date there have been a total of 40 hospitalizations and five deaths locally due to COVID-19. There is currently one active local COVID-19 hospitalization.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
