Kodiak COVID Count: New cases slow, as new hospitalizations emerge

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has announced five new COVID-19 cases for the Kodiak Island Borough. Among these were two close contact cases, one community transmission case, and one travel related case.

This brings the total case count to 951 cases in the Kodiak Island Borough since the start of the pandemic, with 62 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 39 hospitalizations to date, with two patients currently hospitalized. There have been five deaths due to COVID-19 locally since the start of the pandemic.
