Kodiak COVID Count: Only one new case reported today, with one new hospitalization

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has reported one new community transmission COVID-19 case for the Kodiak Island Borough.

A review of records discovered two unreported cases tested in November and December; those numbers have been added to the total case count.

This brings the total number of cases to 1023 since the start of the pandemic, with 38 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 41 local hospitalizations and five deaths associated with COVID-19 to date, with one currently active local COVID-19 hospitalization.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
