Kodiak COVID Count: Single-digit cases eke active cases out over 50

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has reported three new cases of COVID-19 locally for the Kodiak Island Borough, including two close contact cases and one community transmission case.

Included in the report were three more cases of Kodiak residents tested off island, who remain off island and will not be included in the local active case count.

This brings the case count of the Kodiak Island Borough to 985 total cases since the start of the pandemic, with 51 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 39 hospitalizations and five deaths locally due to COVID-19; there are no currently active hospitalizations locally.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
