Kodiak COVID Count: Active cases back down to 17, one new travel-related case

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization reported five new cases of COVID-19 today for the Kodiak Island Borough, including two close contact cases, two community spread cases and one travel related case.

This brings the current case count for the Kodiak Island Borough to 1044 cases since the start of the pandemic, with 17 cases classified as active locally.

There have been 42 local hospitalizations and five deaths to date locally due to COVID-19; there are no active cases currently hospitalized in Kodiak.

There are currently three sites offering Covid-19 testing in Kodiak:

Kodiak Area Native Association KANA

Monday-Friday: 8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Saturday: 10 am- 4 pm

Testing site: 3472 Rezonof Drive East (behind Eyecare Excellence)

Airport testing: Available only for incoming travelers and outgoing village/ remote site travelers.
