Kodiak COVID Count: A new community spread case emerges, with two new possible cases from the weekend

The Kodiak Area Emergency Services Organization has reported a new community transmission COVID-19 case from over the weekend. This brings the total case count to 1071 cases since the start of the pandemic locally, with four cases classified as active on Kodiak.

 

In a Facebook post from Monday morning, the Kodiak Emergency Operations Center stated that it has been notified that the Kodiak Public Health Office is compiling data for two more positive COVID-19 cases from over the weekend, and would announce details on Tuesday.

 

Local hospitalizations and deaths to date remain unchanged, at 42 local hospitalizations and five deaths due to COVID-19 locally.
