The Kalsin Creek Fire has been placed in monitor status, meaning that ground teams will be removed from the fire line. It is presently understood that the fire will be smothered by the rain.

The fire burned a total of 76 acres in between Olds River and Kalsin Creek, and has been burning since Saturday evening. The fire is presently 100% contained. At its peak, it received attention from multiple local fire crews and several firefighting aircrafts.

The wildland fire crew from Kenai will depart from Kodiak Thursday.
