While COVID-19 has certainly cooled down in Kodiak, it hasn’t stopped. According to today’s weekly COVID-19 update, two new cases of COVID-19 were reported for the Kodiak Island Borough, along with a new hospitalization which was transported off-island for a higher level of treatment.

That makes for two off-island hospitalizations in just two weeks; a severe reminder that COVID-19 is still within the Kodiak community.

This brings the total COVID-19 case count since the start of the pandemic to 1132 cases on Kodiak, with six cases classified as active locally.

There have been 48 hospitalizations due to COVID-19 to date, with no active cases presently hospitalized locally. Total deaths to date due to COVID-19 remain at five.
