The Coast Guard Cutter Alex Haley returned to homeport in Kodiak Tuesday after a 52-day patrol in the Bering Sea, according to a Coast Guard press release.

During the patrol, the Alex Haley assisted in search-and rescue missions and enforced maritime law along the Aleutian chain. The Alex Haley conducted 17 law enforcement boardings, and patrolled along the US Exclusive Economic Zone boundary to prevent illegal harvesting of US fish stocks.

During the patrol, the MH-65 helicopter crew from Air Station Kodiak stationed aboard conducted a search and rescue mission in Akutan, and transported the injured resident to higher level medical care.
