Talk of The Rock: Rep. Louise Stutes on the budget, the PFD and the Alaskan Republican Party

Speaker for the Alaska State House Majority Caucus and Kodiak Representative Louise Stutes joined KMXT’s Dylan Simard Tuesday afternoon to discuss some of her points of interest for the upcoming special legislative session.

Right off the bat, Rep. Stutes reiterated her belief that it would not be possible to have a $2000 Permanent Fund Dividend without dipping into the corpus. She claims that the funding model proposed by Governor Dunleavy would leave “a 1-billion-dollar hole in the state budget.”

Additionally, Rep. Stutes said that her priorities were to get the Power Cost Equalization program past the veto, along with state scholarships, and funding fully school bond debt.
